Ronnie Wood buys London theatre tickets for Million Dollar Quartet
Tuesday, 1 March 2011
Ronnie Wood was among the celebrities to have bought London theatre tickets for Million Dollar Quartet this week.
Reporters for the Daily Mail spotted the Rolling Stones rocker as he headed to the Noel Coward Theatre with his 31-year-old girlfriend Ana Araujo.
Also showing a keen interest in the new musical was his former bandmate Bill Wyman, Suzi Quatro and musician-turned-fashionista Brix Start Smith.
Wood, whose divorce was recently finalised, did not say what he thought of the show afterwards, but it might have been a hit given that it features music from Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley.
Anyone who goes to see the musical will be able to watch Bill Ward as Sam Phillips alongside Ben Goddard (Lewis), Derek Hagen (Cash), Robert Britton Lyons (Perkins) and Michael Malarkey (Presley).
Million Dollar Quartet is based on the true story of when the musicians and eventual legends all took part in an impromptu jam session organised by Phillips at Sun Records in Memphis in 1956.
