West End play results in proposal for actress
Tuesday, 1 March 2011
One actress took home more than just memories when she completed a stint in a West End play last week.
Rachael Stirling had been appearing in the Oscar Wilde show An Ideal Husband alongside Oliver Chris at the Vaudeville Theatre until February 26th 2011.
They had been dating each other for some time, but Stirling said she was surprised and delighted when Chris got down on one knee to propose to her in her dressing room.
He also presented her with a ruby ring he had designed himself, prompting Stirling to suggest that the little room was good luck.
"Maybe we'll put a little pink plaque up there one day," she commented.
Unfortunately, London theatre tickets are no longer available for An Ideal Husband, but fans of satirical comedies need not worry, as lots of other plays are sure to appeal over the coming weeks.
For instance, Blithe Spirit by Noel Coward is to be revived at the Apollo Theatre on March 9th 2011.
