Monday, 28 February 2011
The young dancer who has taken over the lead role in West End hit Billy Elliot at the Victoria Palace Theatre has described how much he is enjoying being part of the musical.
Speaking to Broadway World, 12-year-old Josh Baker explained that he has been acting since he was five and started dance training at the age of seven.
He told the online theatre resource: "I was over the moon when I found out I would be playing the role of Billy and am really excited about my first performance."
Josh revealed that it has been hard work, but he is now just looking forward to his friends from school coming to see him in the title role of the musical.
The youngster from Rochester, Kent is the 54th boy to play Billy Elliot in an official production of the piece.
Adapted from the 2000 film of the same name, the musical features songs by Elton John and choreography by Peter Darling.
