Mark Moraghan to star in Priscilla Queen of the Desert
Friday, 25 February 2011
Priscilla Queen of the Desert will add a new cast member to its company from March 7th in the shape of Mark Moraghan.
He may be a familiar face to many television enthusiasts heading to the Palace Theatre for the show, since he has appeared in several popular programmes, including Peak Practice, Heartbeat and Brookside, in which he played Greg Shadwick.
The Liverpool-born actor also starred as Owen Davies in Holby City from 2001 to 2005.
Moraghan will take on the role of Bob the mechanic in Priscilla Queen of the Desert, which is likely to seem like a world away from the straight-laced television productions he has been involved in.
With its garish costumes and camp sense of humour, the experience will no doubt be an interesting change for the actor, who is also no stranger to the stage.
He should have no problems with any singing duties, since he released his debut album in 2009.
