London theatre tickets news The Hurly Burly Show 'is tongue in cheek'
Thursday, 24 February 2011
Those looking for some risque fun could snap up London theatre tickets in order to catch The Hurly Burly Show at the Garrick Theatre.
Beginning its run on March 3rd, the stage show absorbs the viewer in the underground world of burlesque clubs, featuring tight corsets, sleazy blues numbers and lots of innuendo and humour.
Miss Polly Rae leads five of her troupe on to the stage and the girls run through a range of hits, including Michael Jackson's Bad and Olivia Newton-John's Physical, all tailored to replicate the feeling of a real 1940s burlesque venue.
Polly told the Daily Mail: "The word 'burlesque' actually means to make a mockery of something, send something up, so the whole idea is that it's tongue in cheek. In our show there's a lot of comedy."
The Hurly Burly Show started running at the Soho Revue bar in 2006 and has since gained a reputation that has brought it to West End prominence.
