Wednesday, 23 February 2011
People with London theatre tickets to Love Never Dies have heard that acclaimed composer Andrew Lloyd Webber believes the reworked version of the production is a lot better than the original incarnation.
The sequel to The Phantom of the Opera is currently playing at the Adelphi Theatre, but Lloyd Webber admitted to the Daily Telegraph that he and his creative team did not get the show right first time.
Looking back on his career, he cited the first version of Love Never Dies as an example of a production that could have worker better.
The 62-year-old stressed it is much improved after a new director and lyricist were hired.
"I've been fortunate enough always to have done the thing I loved," Lloyd Webber told the publication.
The reworked version of Love Never Dies at the Adelphi Theatre has won several awards.
When the show premiered in 2010, it was the first musical sequel to be staged in the West End.
