Natasha Hamilton I love having a gritty role in Blood Brothers
Wednesday, 16 February 2011
Former Atomic Kitten star Natasha Hamilton has been speaking about appearing in West End show Blood Brothers and how different it is to being a pop singer.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, the 28-year-old said being in the band felt like madness, being rushed from city to city to prepare for show after show.
Although she said she had great fun as one-third of the group that topped the charts with Whole Again, Hamilton revealed she had always wanted to take to the stage, but her acting ambitions had to take a back seat for a number of years.
"I always used to say to my family I'd love a really gritty role. I've got it now!" she commented.
Hamilton is the youngest ever actress to play Mrs Johnstone in the play at the Phoenix Theatre and she recently told the Liverpool Echo that it hasn't been easy.
The performer admitted that she was often left in tears by the emotional impact of the Blood Brothers story during rehearsals.
