Scouts to put on show in London's West End
Monday, 14 February 2011
A group of scouts and guides will get the opportunity to experience what life is like as a West End performer when they tread the boards in London next week.
The Wirral Globe reports that nearly 100 boys and girls from the north-west will make their way to the capital by coach to showcase their 50th Anniversary Gang Show at the Bloomsbury Theatre.
It is the first time the Gang Show has been put on for West End audiences and has taken 18 months to organise.
Chairman Brian Hazlehurst said everyone wanted to do something special for the 50th anniversary.
"There has been a frightening amount of work involved, but it will be absolutely brilliant. Everyone is extremely excited," he added.
The scouts and guides will not be alone, as almost all their parents will be following them to London in order to take in the show.
Afterwards, the families may wish to take in another West End production, with a host of child-friendly plays and musicals currently on in London.
These include War Horse, Wicked, The Lion King and Billy Elliot.
