Love Never Dies is given West End extension
Wednesday, 9 February 2011
Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit production Love Never Dies is set to run for an additional eight months at the Adelphi Theatre in the West End.
The musical, which is the sequel to the blockbuster play The Phantom of the Opera, has been given an extension until January 14th 2012, What's On Stage reports.
Set ten years on from the original story, the female lead Christine Daae is reunited with the Phantom, this time in New York City.
The masked man fled Paris with the help of Madame Giry and built a new empire on Coney Island.
He embarks on winning back his musical protegee and lures Ms Daae, husband Raoul and son Gustave, to America with money and bright lights.
However, she soon learns of the identity of the mysterious man and old memories are awoken.
Ramin Karimloo plays the Phantom, while Sierra Boggess stars as his muse in the production, which was recently nominated for seven Laurence Olivier Awards.
