Blood Brothers debut 'marks Natasha Hamilton's time to shine'
Wednesday, 26 January 2011
Her performances in West End production Blood Brothers will give former Atomic Kitten star Natasha Hamilton chance to shine properly for the first time since the band split.
This is according to the Daily Mail's Natalie Wain, who said she went to see the musical this week in order to check out the singer's debut as Mrs Johnstone.
The journalist revealed that she was very impressed by Hamilton's performance and called the role a "perfect first-time stage outing for Scouser Natasha".
Mrs Johnstone is an impoverished woman living in Liverpool who realises she will be unable to look after both her newborn twin boys, so gives one away for adoption.
Hamilton is the youngest ever actress to play the part at 28, but she was preceded by fellow girl band star Melanie Chisholm of the Spice Girls, who was nominated for an Olivier Award for her performance in 2009.
Earlier this month, Hamilton told the Liverpool Echo she had found preparations for Blood Brothers gruelling, especially because it is such an emotional show.
