The Robbie Williams story to be made into a musical
Wednesday, 26 January 2011
Robbie Williams is to have a musical made about his life in the music industry, it has been revealed.
According to the Sun, the Take That singer has given Old Vic Theatre owner Sally Greene the go-ahead to use his solo material in order to tell his turbulent story in a West End show.
"Robbie is bang up for the musical and thinks it will be a fun production. He loves West End shows and is honoured they will be doing one about his life," an unnamed source told the newspaper.
Ms Greene is one of the people behind Billy Elliot the Musical and is now starting auditions for two people to play Williams.
The finished musical is sure to include his journey from 16-year-old boyband member to successful solo artist, as well as his well-documented battles with drugs.
However, it will also show how he rejoined Take That and overcame his demons before marrying Ayda Field last year.
Anyone who enjoys music from the 1990s and noughties may be pleased to know that a musical is also being made featuring Spice Girls hits.
