Amanda Holden talks about fitting for Shrek the Musical costume
Monday, 24 January 2011
Amanda Holden has been discussing the methods being used to fit her Princess Fiona costume for Shrek the Musical.
The Britain's Got Talent judge is to turn into a green ogre for the role and she wrote in her regular column for the News of the World's Fabulous magazine that the designers have been busy creating her prosthetics.
She said she had to stand in a bin bag while blue plastic gel and then plaster of Paris was smeared across her shoulders, neck, face and head.
Holes were left for Holden to breathe through, but she couldn't see and had to stand perfectly still to allow it to harden.
"I wasn't allowed to move or talk for over an hour while it set, which as you can imagine was a major challenge for me," she laughed.
The performer added that her husband Chris Hughes had joked about being able to build a life-sized Amanda doll with the mould.
Holden recently revealed in the News of the World that she is pregnant again and will give birth three months before she is to take to the stage of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane as Princess Fiona.
