Actor enjoys run in The Mousetrap
Monday, 17 January 2011
An actor has said he is enjoying starring in The Mousetrap, the longest running West End show ever.
Marcus Webb auditioned for the part of Sergeant Trotter in August 2010 and won the role, going on to appear on his first show in November.
He told This is Wiltshire he is having a good time so far, even with six nights and two matinees a week to contend with.
It is going very well and I am really enjoying being in the role … We like to keep it as fresh as possible because every night it is a new audience," Mr Webb commented.
The performer said his family is hoping to come down to London to see him soon, although he added that this will not faze him - in fact, he insisted the Queen herself could be in the audience and he would still feel fine.
Showing at St Martin's Theatre, The Mousetrap first opened on November 25th 1952 with Richard Attenborough in the lead role and has been delighting fans of whodunnits ever since.
