Get London theatre tickets to hear Grease's top duet soon, fans reminded
Tuesday, 11 January 2011
Fans of Grease may wish to get their London theatre tickets soon if they are to hear the show's record-breaking soundtrack before it closes.
The musical will close its curtains for the final time on April 30th 2011 at the Piccadilly Theatre, where it has become the longest running show in the venue's history.
It was recently revealed that You're the One That I Want - as sung by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John in the film - is the best-selling duet of all time, so it may be worth another West End visit to hear the party classic.
As part of a BBC Radio 2 special, The Official Chart Company also said that Summer Nights from Grease came second in the list, while Puff Daddy and Faith Evans took third place with I'll Be Missing You.
Especially for You by Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue and Don't Go Breaking My Heart by Elton John and Kiki Dee rounded out the top five.
"Grease has proved that a musical love story, bursting with denim, cheerleaders, slick hairstyles, rock'n'roll, teenage angst and young romance is timeless and universal," the official website states.
