Dirty Dancing tickets now available for longer
Wednesday, 29 December 2010
Dirty Dancing has extended its booking period in the West End due to continued high demand from theatregoers.
The musical will now be open at the Aldwych Theatre until at least October 29th 2011, WhatsonStage.com reports.
Based on the 1987 film of the same name, Dirty Dancing tells the story of Frances 'Baby' Houseman, who goes to a holiday camp with her family and falls in love with hunky dance teacher Johnny Castle.
When she offers to stand in for his dance partner in a show and he has to teach her all he knows, the feeling becomes mutual.
Dirty Dancing currently stars Ray Quinn of X Factor fame as Johnny's cousin Billy Kostecki.
The performer told Sky News in August 2010 that he loves appearing in the show, as being in the West End is a dream come true.
He even said he is glad he did not win the reality TV competition, as he is happy with the opportunities he has had as a runner-up.
