Blood Brothers adds festive matinee performances
Thursday, 25 November 2010
Anyone who has not yet been to see Blood Brothers may now have the opportunity to do so after it was announced that more matinee performances have been added to the festive schedule.
Extra shows will take place at the Phoenix Theatre on December 22nd and 29th, perhaps making for the perfect Christmas treat for fans of gritty dramas, WhatsonStage.com reports.
Those who do go to see the Willy Russell musical - which has now been at the venue for almost 20 years - will be able to see 1970s music star Lyn Paul starring as Mrs Johnstone, the mother forced to give up one of her newborn twins in order to make ends meet.
Earlier this month, it was announced that former Atomic Kitten Natasha Hamilton is to take over playing the same character from January 24th 2011 onwards.
She has big shoes to fill, as Melanie Chisholm - aka Sporty Spice - is currently up for a London Evening Standard Award for her portrayal of the role.
