London theatre tickets demand to rocket this weekend?

Thursday, 25 November 2010

Fans of plays and musicals hoping to get London theatre tickets for this weekend had better hurry after it was revealed that Saturday and Sunday (November 27th and 28th 2010) are set to be the busiest days in the West End all year.

According to the New West End Company, some two million people will pour into the region in order to start their Christmas shopping in earnest, with Saturday seeing Oxford and Regent Streets pedestrianised between 10:00 and 18:00 GMT.

It is expected that £250 million will be spent over the course of the two days.

Furthermore, with many of these shoppers sure to be staying in the capital to make an event of it, London theatre tickets are sure to shoot up.

Demand for family-friendly musicals such as Wicked and The Lion King could be most likely to rise (as was the case last half-term), so it could be a good idea to book in advance.
