Special Jersey Boys gala raises thousands for Children in Need
Tuesday, 23 November 2010
A special Jersey Boys gala evening held to raise money for Children in Need has proved to be the most successful ever.
According to BroadwayWorld.com, the event at the Prince Edward Theatre on November 17th 2010 held in conjunction with BBC London 94.9FM brought in a staggering £60,150.
This is more than last year's Mamma Mia! gala and was hailed by those involved as an excellent achievement.
Gaby Roslin and Paul Ross presented the festivities, while Pudsey also made an appearance on the stage to dance to one of the Jersey Boys hits.
BBC London managing editor David Robey said: "Our listeners and viewers had a fabulous night at one of the best shows ever to come to London's West End."
Last month, it was revealed that the cast of Jersey Boys could be helping the Spice Girls to kick off the 2012 Olympics.
The girls are reportedly big fans of the musical and are keen to join forces to sing Beggin'.
