Closing date announced for West End's Flashdance
Tuesday, 23 November 2010
People looking to get their hands on tickets for Flashdance the Musical may wish to know that a closing date has now been announced for the show.
The West End production will close its curtains at the Shaftesbury Theatre for the last time on January 15th 2011, despite previous intentions that it would stay until February 26th.
Based on the 1983 film of the same name, Flashdance features hit songs such as I Love Rock and Roll, Gloria and Maniac.
It originally opened on October 14th this year and stars Victoria Hamilton-Barritt as Alex, former Busted singer Matt Willis as love interest Nick and Sarah Ingram as Hannah.
Flashdance has been receiving excellent reviews since opening night, with plenty of praise coming in from critics for Hamilton-Barritt in particular.
Last month, Michael Coveney of WhatsonStage.com called the musical "invigorating" and said he thinks it is better than the original movie.
