The Woman in Black to see cast changes
Wednesday, 17 November 2010
Anyone who goes to see The Woman in Black at the Fortune Theatre from the middle of next month onwards will notice new actors playing the lead roles.
Current performers Michael Mears and Orlando Wells are to be succeeded by Patrick Drury and Anthony Eden from December 20th 2010 onwards.
Mr Drury was most recently seen in London's West End in The Memory of Water, while Mr Eden may be recognisable for his roles in The Glass Menagerie and Mrs Warren's Profession.
The Woman in Black first opened in London on June 7th 1989 and has been a favourite in theatreland ever since thanks to its chilling plot.
Earlier this month, Susan Hill - who wrote the novel upon which the stage play is based - told the Telegraph that it is successful because all its ghosts have a motive and are therefore more frightening.
She said disturbed souls with unfinished business are much scarier than "pointless" headless horsemen.
