Amanda Holden I'm so excited about Shrek the Musical
Monday, 15 November 2010
Actress and TV personality Amanda Holden has said she is really excited about getting started on Shrek the Musical soon.
Writing in her weekly column for Fabulous magazine, she said she recently met her fellow cast members at a photoshoot within the Haymarket Hotel and is now raring to go.
Holden is to play Princess Fiona in the musical adaptation, with Nigel Lindsay as Shrek and Richard Blackwood as Donkey.
However, she joked she is not put off by ogres, having worked with Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan on Britain's Got Talent for four years.
"I can't wait to start rehearsals and get cracking," the performer commented.
Shrek the Musical will succeed Oliver! at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane and officially opens in March 2011.
It is based on the original film, which sees grumpy green ogre Shrek go off on a quest to reclaim his rightful home, meeting his lively sidekick Donkey and beautiful Princess Fion along the way.
