Dirty Dancing tour to run alongside London theatre version
Monday, 1 November 2010
A national tour of the musical Dirty Dancing is to run alongside the ongoing West End version, it has been revealed.
The new version of the famous show will begin its trip around Britain at Bristol's Hippodrome before going on to take in Glasgow, Manchester, Dublin, Aberdeen, Southampton and Milton Keynes.
It is thought the tour will finish at some point in 2012.
Dirty Dancing creator Eleanor Bergstein said: "It is a special pleasure for us to plan a production that will have the chance both to visit and thank those who have travelled so far to see us, and to take our show to those who could not make the journey."
Meanwhile, Dirty Dancing in London will be booking at the Aldwych Theatre until at least October 29th 2011.
Dirty Dancing is based on the 1987 classic film of the same name and tells the story of Frances 'Baby' Houseman, who goes to a holiday camp and falls in love with enigmatic dance instructor Johnny Castle.
