Daniel Radcliffe begins shooting film version of The Woman in Black
Friday, 8 October 2010
Daniel Radcliffe has begun shooting scenes for the film version of West End stalwart The Woman in Black.
The 21-year-old is playing solicitor Arthur Kipps in the movie, who is called to a remote mansion to organise the papers of a deceased elderly lady.
Radcliffe told Daily Mail showbiz columnist Baz Bamigboye that although he is nervous about moving on from Harry Potter, he knew he had to take on the new role after reading the script and finding it "absolutely terrifying".
"I was simply after a good role," he explained.
However, the actor said that fans of The Woman in Black at the Fortune Theatre will find the new adaptation quite different from what they are used to.
In June, the play was given a 12-month extension to its booking period, meaning it is now playing until December 17th 2011 instead of December 18th 2010.
It celebrated 21 years in the West End this summer.
