People with London theatre tickets for Billy Elliot to welcome new performer

Monday, 4 October 2010

People with London theatre tickets for Billy Elliot on November 29th 2010 will be able to welcome the 24th Billy to the show, it has been revealed.

Scott McKenzie, 13, will join the current cast next month and is to share the role of the young dance enthusiast with Aaron Watson, Dean Charles-Chapman and Rhys Yeomans.

The producers always have a number of boys in the lead role in order to prevent them from becoming too tired or missing out on too much schoolwork.

Scott has a long history in the theatre despite his young age and began UK Theatre School when he was five years old.

He auditioned for the Billy Elliot role in February 2009 and was soon told he had won the part, but has been at the Billy Elliot Academy since then.

Billy Elliot first opened at the Victoria Palace Theatre in 2005 and is currently booking until April 2011.
