Ghost Stories to welcome League of Gents regular Reece Shearsmith
Friday, 1 October 2010
Reece Shearsmith of League of Gentlemen fame is to appear in West End play Ghost Stories for two months.
The actor will replace his former colleague in the show Andy Nyman as Professor Philip Goodman between November 9th 2010 and January 8th 2011 at the Duke of York's Theatre.
TV viewers may also recognise Shearsmith from Psychoville, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), Spaced, Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere and Shaun of the Dead.
Ghost Stories has been well-received since it first transferred to London's theatreland in July earlier this year.
However, it is not recommended for young children and carries a warning that people of a nervous disposition may not like it.
In August, Mark Shenton, writing for the Express, said Ghost Stories is "full of tremors", which is part of its appeal.
Meanwhile, Maddy Costa of the Guardian said she liked it because it encourages the minds of the audience to play tricks on themselves.
