Clybourne Park confirmed for West End transfer
Thursday, 30 September 2010
Satirical comedy Clybourne Park has been confirmed for a West End transfer from the Royal Court next year.
Although it had been speculated that the play would go to the Theatre Royal Haymarket, it has now been revealed that Wyndham's Theatre will be its new home as of February 8th 2011.
This follows the recent successes of Enron and Jerusalem, both former Royal Court residents which transferred to London theatreland homes.
Current actors Lorna Brown, Sarah Goldberg, Michael Goldsmith, Lucian Msamati, Sam Spruell and Sophie Thompson will all reprise their roles when Clybourne Park transfers.
Written by Bruce Norris, Clybourne Park is a study of racism in the property market. It depicts what happens when a white couple sell their home to a black couple in the 1950s and how it has repercussions many years later.
Wyndham's Theatre is currently the home of Avenue Q, which is booking until October 30th 2010.
