To The Manor Born duo to be reunited in West End
Friday, 24 September 2010
Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles are to be reunited in London's West End later this year, it has been revealed.
The actors, who starred together in To The Manor Born in the 1980s, will appear in The Rivals at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from November 10th 2010.
Set in Bath and originally performed in 1775, The Rivals was written by Richard Brinsley Sheridan and is a comedy of manners.
Keith is to star as Mrs Malaprop, while Bowles will play Sir Anthony Absolute in a show which sees the characters go through a number of farcical schemes before everyone is paired off.
The play was once a favourite of the royal family and also became a hit in the US when Britain still had colonies there.
Fans of To The Manor Born and The Good Life - in which Keith also appeared - may wish to get hold of tickets as soon as they can.
The Rivals is to replace Sweet Charity, which announced its forthcoming closure earlier this week.
