Sweet Charity posts West End closing notices
Thursday, 23 September 2010
It has been announced that the hit musical Sweet Charity is to close in the West End on November 6th 2010.
The show, which stars Tamzin Outhwaite as naïve yet loveable nightclub hostess Charity Hope Valentine, has enjoyed praise from audiences and critics alike since it opened at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in April.
Prior to this, it proved so popular at the Menier Chocolate Factory that its producers moved it straight to the West End.
It has not yet been announced what play or musical will replace Sweet Charity after it closes its curtains for the last time in London.
Last month, Matt Palm of the Orlando Sentinel said watching the musical made for a "fun night at the theatre" and praised Outhwaite for her sunny portrayal of the lead character, as well as her "chipper" American accent.
Sweet Charity is directed by Matthew White and features songs such as Hey Big Spender and If My Friends Could See Me Now.
