The 39 Steps now booking until October 2011 at Criterion Theatre
Tuesday, 14 September 2010
The Criterion Theatre is to remain the home of The 39 Steps until at least October 22nd 2011.
Bookings are now been accepted for the play up until this date, as the show makes its way into its fifth consecutive year in the West End, reports WhatsOnStage.
In The 39 Steps - a show based on John Buchan's famous novel - four actors take on the challenge of playing 139 characters to tell the story of Richard Hannay, who goes on the run after a woman is found murdered in his apartment.
The story has been adapted for the stage by Patrick Barlow and was given its theatrical debut at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in 2005 before transferring to London one year later.
Part of the attraction of the Criterion Theatre show is the fact that it includes plenty of exciting stunts, including the first biplane crash ever performed on stage.
