Niki Evans I thought Blood Brothers was a rock musical!

Thursday, 9 September 2010

West End star Niki Evans has been speaking about how pleased she was to be given the chance to star in Blood Brothers.

The former X Factor contestant admitted to the Northern Echo that she thought the show was a rock musical when she was asked to audition for it and then went on to mess up her try-out.

Despite these setbacks, she was given the role of Mrs Johnstone and revealed it was one she really identified with, being a working class mother-of-two herself.

"I'm really, really grateful that people still want to come along and see me," Evans commented.

Tantalisingly, the 37-year-old said London theatre fans should look out for her in a musical next year which requires her to be blonde with "big boobs".

Last month, Blood Brothers was given a 12-month extension at the Phoenix Theatre, meaning it will now be booking until November 26th 2011.
