Shoes musical to arrive at Peacock Theatre soon?
Tuesday, 7 September 2010
A musical about shoes by the people behind Jerry Springer - The Opera could be set to arrive at the Peacock Theatre soon.
Composer Richard Thomas said at a Q&A session hosted by WhatsonStage.com that plans are underway to bring Shoes to the West End venue for six to nine weeks in early 2011.
It would then go on a national tour, he explained.
Shoes is a song and dance revue that examines the styles of footwear that have captured the hearts of women over the years and was first revealed to London theatre fans in February 2010.
Anyone who goes to see it can expect to see fun poked at Carrie Bradshaw in the song Vex In The City, as well as at well-known shoe devotee Imelda Marcos in Imelda Marcos Argues With The Nation.
Speaking back in February, Mr Thomas commented: "Shoes is basically about joy - searching for it, finding it and losing it."
