Wicked is granted an extension to its booking period
Friday, 3 September 2010
West End musical Wicked is to head into its fifth year in London after announcing an extension to its booking period.
Tickets for the show will now be available until October 29th 2011, which may be good news for those who have not yet managed to see it at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.
Wicked first opened in September 2006 and welcomed its three millionth visitor on August 4th 2010.
A Laurence Olivier Award winner for Most Popular Show, Wicked is also set to record its second-highest grossing year to date, having taken more in bookings this summer than in 2009.
Lee Mead, Louise Dearman and Rachel Tucker are currently among the cast members delighting audiences in the musical.
In July, Deadline revealed that filmmaking company Universal is in talks to bring Wicked to the silver screen.
Lost creator JJ Abrams was reported to be one of the directors interested in helping it make the transition from the stage.
