Claire Skinner Deathtrap is a welcome change
Thursday, 2 September 2010
Actress Claire Skinner has said she is nervously looking forward to appearing in Deathtrap, because it will be a welcome change to what she is used to.
The 45-year-old, who was recently on television in the sitcom Outnumbered, is to star opposite Simon Russell Beale and Jonathan Groff in Deathtrap from September 7th 2010 onwards.
She told the Independent that while people often see her as best at playing damaged women, she likes trying other things, which is why she took on the Ira Levin play.
"I wanted to do something fun, something lighter," Skinner explained.
However, she admitted that her character is particularly challenging because she does not have many lines, something which her ad-libbing in Outnumbered has helped her with.
Last month, it was revealed that a film-style trailer had been released to promote Deathtrap at the Noel Coward Theatre, which has proven to be a big hit on YouTube.
