Love Never Dies role means youngster is a West End veteran
Thursday, 2 September 2010
Not many people can say they are West End veterans at the age of 11, but Harry Polden from South Woodford can now do just that.
He is currently playing Gustave in Love Never Dies at the Adelphi Theatre, but also has a range of other stage credits to his name, according to the Waltham Forest Guardian.
Harry has already appeared in Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Oliver! and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
Despite this success, Harry's mother Sally Polden told the newspaper the family only found out he could act when he appeared in a school Christmas play aged nine.
"He loves it although he is very modest about his achievements," she commented.
Love Never Dies is currently booking until March 16th 2011. Six youngsters play the role of Gustave at any one time to avoid any of them becoming too tired, a tactic also employed for Billy Elliot.
