Blood Brothers is granted huge 12 month extension
Wednesday, 25 August 2010
Willy Russell's play Blood Brothers will now be booking in the West End until November 26th 2011, it has been revealed.
The production has continued to be so popular that organisers have granted it the extra 12 months in its West End home the Phoenix Theatre, reports by WhatsonStage.com state.
Blood Brothers tells the story of Mrs Johnstone, a poor Liverpudlian who finds herself pregnant with twins. Unable to cope, she gives one up for adoption to a rich family.
Years later, the boys meet up - unaware they are brothers - and are set on a collision course with a shattering climax.
In June 2010, Karen Price of the Western Mail said she found Blood Brothers to be as good as ever, despite having been open in London for almost 30 years.
Meanwhile, the News Shopper's Matthew Jenkin described the play as a "crowd-pleasing soap opera" that is sure to suit all audiences.
