Love Never Dies gets West End extension
Wednesday, 25 August 2010
Love Never Dies has been given an extension to its booking period in the West End due to popular demand.
According to WhatsonStage.com, the sequel to Phantom of the Opera will now be showing at the Adelphi Theatre until January 8th 2011, three months longer than originally scheduled.
Love Never Dies is set in 1907 and stars Ramin Karimloo as the Phantom, alongside Sierra Boggess as Christine.
The action has moved from France to New York, where the opera ghost is now the proprietor of a Coney Island theme park. He invites Christine to sing for him by pretending to be someone else, luring her back in to his world of misfits with life-changing consequences.
In May, Karimloo told Claudia Winkleman on BBC Radio 2's The Arts Show that he thinks Love Never Dies is great and really interesting.
"I love the idea that the only thing constant is change and if love never dies then change is only possible with love - and love is only way to resurrect the human soul," he remarked.
