Jason Manford I'm a big fan of musicals
Wednesday, 18 August 2010
New host of The One Show Jason Manford has revealed he is a big fan of musicals and would even love to be in one himself if the chance came up.
Speaking to Celebs magazine, the comedian said he once sang a song from Little Shop of Horrors on Jonathan Ross' talk show and also played one of the orphans in Oliver! while he was at college.
"When I finish The One Show I'd love to do a West End musical. I'd love to go down the Michael Crawford route and play the Phantom," he commented.
Phantom of the Opera is currently booking at Her Majesty's Theatre until February 26th 2011, but Manford may wish to keep an eye open for any acting opportunities in its sequel, Love Never Dies, which opened earlier in 2010.
Now showing at the Adelphi Theatre, it stars Ramin Karimloo as the opera ghost and sees the action move to New York's Coney Island.
