Les Miserables 'is truly timeless'
Wednesday, 18 August 2010
Les Miserables has been recommended to London theatre fans who want a show that is as good now as it was when it first opened.
Micheal Worrall, writing for Platform magazine, said he went to see the musical at the Queen's Theatre recently and thoroughly enjoyed it.
He had particular praise for Lucie Jones as Cosette, whom he said "effortlessly" hit the high notes.
Mr Worrall also lauded Norm Lewis as Javert for bringing the house down during Stars and Martin Ball as Thenardier, who was described as "simply stunning".
"The production remains one of the strongest on the West End and with its talented cast and formidable score, Les Miserables truly is timeless," he concluded.
Last month, Marvin Humes and Aston Merrygold from JLS were spotted enjoying Les Miserables, which celebrates 25 years in London during 2010.
Humes also took along his girlfriend Rochelle Wiseman, one-fifth of The Saturdays.
