Phantom of the Opera to feature on Xbox singing game
Thursday, 12 August 2010
London theatre fans who are also gamers may be pleased to know they can now sing along with Phantom of the Opera on their Xbox.
A deal has been agreed between Microsoft and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group which will allow songs from the musical to be available as an add-on for the game Lips.
Cats and Evita will also be represented among the add-on tracks, which will be available to download from Xbox Live as of this week.
There will also be a competitive feature which allows users to duet on songs like Memory and Love Changes Everything.
Dave McCarthy, Microsoft spokesperson, said: "We're thrilled to bring the timeless and immensely popular music of Andrew Lloyd Webber to Lips players everywhere."
This comes after Dance on Broadway was launched for Wii gamers recently. The title features tracks from Chicago, Legally Blonde and Cabaret and allows London theatre fans to dance along to their favourite songs from musicals in their own living rooms.
