Ghost Stories 'is skilfully and expertly realised'
Wednesday, 11 August 2010
Ghost Stories has been praised for its atmosphere by one London theatre critic who went to see it this week.
Mark Shenton, writing for the Express, said the play is "full of tremors".
"That's all part of the build-up of anticipation that the show so skilfully conjures, providing an immersive experience from the moment you enter the theatre," he commented.
Mr Shenton also said there is terrific stage craft in evidence in Ghost Stories, with moody lighting and evocative sounds featuring prominently throughout.
This follows a recent review by Maddy Costa in the Guardian, who said Ghost Stories is effective because it encourages the minds of the audience to play tricks on themselves.
However, anyone who is after a supernatural story that is not quite so scary this summer holiday could opt for London theatre tickets for Room on the Broom, Mr Shelton said.
The critic said it is a lovely piece of storytelling for children aged three and above.
