Whoopi Goldberg begins Sister Act performances tonight

Anyone who has bought Sister Act tickets for tonight (August 10th 2010) may be very excited about the prospect of seeing Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Superior.
The Hollywood veteran will take to the stage of the London Palladium alongside Patina Miller, who plays Deloris, for the first time this evening and it promises to be an exciting event for London theatre fans.
Goldberg originally played Deloris in the 1992 film version of Sister Act and was also involved in the production of the West End musical.
Speaking last month following the announcement that she was to join the stage show, producer Bill Tyler commented: "Back in her habit and on stage with our company at the beautiful Palladium, theatregoers get to see a comedy legend at work."
Last week, Goldberg said she was suffering from an attack of nerves ahead of her London stage debut, telling the London Evening Standard she may be "wearing diapers" for her first appearance.
