Legally Blonde 'does exactly what it says on the tin'
Monday, 2 August 2010
Legally Blonde has been recommended as an ideal show for people who want to leave London's West End feeling great.
In an interview with the Telegraph, Sheridan Smith - who plays socialite turned legal eagle Elle Woods - said people often have preconceived ideas about the musical before they go to see it and imagine it will not be very good.
"I think people are pleasantly surprised. Pink fluffy show, you know, just great fun. Does what it says on the tin, cheers you up," she commented.
When asked about rumours that she is to star in the forthcoming Bridget Jones musical, Smith said she has got "everything crossed", but added she would love to go to America too.
However, the actress - who joked that she was previously best-known for playing "chavs and slappers" - said her priority right now is to make sure every performance of Legally Blonde is as good as when it first opened.
The cast of the musical at the Savoy Theatre are soon to launch an album featuring Legally Blonde's hits, including the infamous Bend and Snap.
