Lauren Samuels Grease is beyond my wildest dreams
Friday, 30 July 2010
Lauren Samuels, the new Sandy in West End musical Grease, has said appearing in the show is a dream come true.
The Over the Rainbow finalist had her opening night on Monday (July 26th 2010) and said she had to pinch herself to believe she really was a leading lady in a London theatre show, the Coventry Telegraph reports.
"I was so nervous. But at the end the whole audience were on their feet. It was beyond my wildest dreams," Samuels commented.
The performer said she first decided she wanted to be a West End star after watching The Phantom of the Opera with her mum as a child.
Samuels recently told the Leicester Mercury she felt as though she was going to be sick with nerves as she waited to go on stage for the first time, but added that the audience helped to allay her fears by singing along.
