The audience 'is an integral part of Legally Blonde'
Thursday, 29 July 2010
People who have bought London theatre tickets for Legally Blonde have been praised for their enthusiastic nature by one critic who recently went to see the musical.
Writing for the Guardian, Lyn Gardner said while Sheridan Smith in the lead role is "still giving 110 per cent", so are the members of the audience.
"There were Mexican waves in the dress circle and an engagement with what was happening on stage that was touching in its intensity," she commented.
Ms Gardner went on to say the audience is an integral part of Legally Blonde, particularly when they respond to key aspects like Warner's villainy with gusto.
Earlier this week, Ben Brantley of the New York Times credited Smith as Elle Woods for making the musical so infectious.
He said the actress has impeccable comic timing and a charming quality which makes the audience smile whenever she does.
Legally Blonde is currently booking at the Savoy Theatre.
