Tom Cruise: I'd love to appear in London's West End
Tuesday, 27 July 2010
Tom Cruise has said he would love to appear on the stages of London's West End if he got the opportunity.
The actor - who is in the UK to promote new film Knight and Day with Cameron Diaz - told the London Evening Standard he would love to make his theatre debut over here.
Speaking as he signed autographs in Leicester Square, he commented: "I'd really like to do the stage at some point - we'll see."
However, his co-star Diaz has no such ambitions. Although the Telegraph quotes her as saying she dearly loves London, the actress also said she is not considering a theatrical role and is sure she would get terrible stage fright.
One Hollywood actor currently enjoying a sting in London's West End is Jeff Goldblum, who has received praise from critics for his part in The Prisoner of Second Avenue.
Meanwhile, Whoopi Goldberg will make her West End debut next month when she joins Sister Act for its final few weeks.
