Novel and hit West End play The Woman in Black is to be made into a film starring Daniel Radcliffe, it has been revealed.
The actor - who recently finished filming the last in the series of Harry Potter movies - will play Arthur Kipps, a solicitor who finds himself embroiled in spooky goings-on after travelling to an old house to organise a dead woman's affairs.
"I am incredibly excited to be part of The Woman in Black. Jane Goldman's script is beautifully written - both tender and terrifying in equal measure," he commented.
The film will be directed by James Watkins and produced by Hammer and Alliance Films.
It is not yet known when The Woman in Black will be released in cinemas.
For anyone who can't wait for the film version, the original theatre production is still showing at the Fortune Theatre, 21 years after it first opened.
It was recently given a 12-month extension, meaning it is now booking until December 17th 2011.
