Sister Act performer Sheila Hancock has revealed she still gets nervous before each show, even though she has been appearing as Mother Superior for several months.
The 77-year-old told the Telegraph that she used to vomit with fear before she went on stage, but now goes to see a hypnotist beforehand to lessen the stage fright.
She explained: "The main fear is drying up, especially in a musical because you can't improvise your way out of it."
Hancock added that she is always wary about "going on automatic pilot" in case it makes her forget her lines.
The actress also discussed her part as a judge on TV's Over the Rainbow, which eventually chose a Dorothy for The Wizard of Oz.
She laughed about the show being "the highest camp in the world" and said she is flattered about apparently now being a gay icon.
Hancock will soon make way in Sister Act for Whoopi Goldberg, who takes over her role on August 10th 2010.
