Singer-actor Michael Ball is to co-produce Love Story for its West End transfer later this year, it has been revealed.
Theatre gossip columnist for the Daily Mail Baz Bamigboye spoke to Ball, who said he was enamoured by the show after seeing it in Chichester and suggested to producer Adam Spiegel that it should be moved to London.
"Adam said did I want to put my money where my mouth is and come on board as a producer," he recalled.
Ball said yes and is now assisting the production team with Love Story ready for its opening in November 2010.
"You know when something's right and this is. It is a risk but I wanted to have a go," Ball explained.
The performer also has experience of being on the other side of the stage, as he appeared in the West End version of Hairspray from October 2007 to July 2009.
