A woman who dreamed of treading the boards in the West End has achieved her ambition by securing a role in Dreamboats and Petticoats.
Lauren Storer, 24, had toured all over the world with the travelling version of the musical, but was only recently chosen to join the cast at the Playhouse Theatre in London.
She now sings as part of the chorus and the Westmorland Gazette reports that her mother Wendy has already been to watch her daughter perform several times.
Meanwhile, her former performing arts teacher Caroline Barber told the publication she is very proud of her one-time pupil.
"Lauren was a very ambitious and dedicated student and has done well," she added.
Dreamboats and Petticoats is a jukebox musical based on the compilation albums of the same name, which have now sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide.
The show is currently booking until November 27th 2010.
