Ghost Stories 'is like The Vagina Monologues with spectres'
Ghost Stories got its inspiration from some familiar plays.

One of the creators of Ghost Stories has likened the play to The Vagina Monologues with added spooks.
Andy Nyman told WhatsonStage.com that he and co-creator Jeremy Dyson wanted to write something which told a story and was also fast-moving, just like The Vagina Monologues is.
He added that The Woman in Black was another source of inspiration for them while coming up with Ghost Stories, as it is phenomenally successful and also very scary.
"Having such an appetite for horror, it just struck me as bizarre that there hasn't been anything else [similar]," Nyman commented.
However, anyone who goes to see Ghost Stories has been asked not to reveal the twist at the end of the play.
"We think it's exciting for an audience not knowing what they are coming to see," Nyman explained.
Ghost Stories will open this week at the Duke of York's Theatre, while The Woman in Black is still showing at the Fortune Theatre.
